2019 HAS BEEN A GREAT YEAR!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all our Friends who support and visit our Blog and the Bluebird Trail @ Green Meadows Preserve PARK. A few photo's to remember some of our 2019 activities and events.

Our outdoor Classroom built by a Eagle Scout Project.

Our Total Hatched and Fledged through
the 2019 nesting season.

Our Southern Red Oak, she turned 184 this year.

Not my photo, but a great shot of two
males and a female Bluebird.

One of our many successful Saturday morning
Walk and Talk Tours.

Saturday morning Tour.

This year while in Ireland we found the house we want to stay in
when we visit for 3 or 4 months.

I thought this very approbate for the area around
Green Meadows  Preserve PARK.

This big guy likes to keep an eye on me when I am in the
PARK filling the feeders with dried mealworms.
One of many Eagle Scout Projects finished
and donated to the PARK this year.

A very successful turn out for one of our Garden Clubs
on a Walk and Talk Tour this year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2019 Nesting Season has now ended!

Of the 47 Nest Boxes we check on a regular basis and report the results to The Cornell Lab of Ornithology - NestWatch.

For the 2019 Nesting Year we had a total of 273 Fledglings, of that number 95% were of the Eastern Bluebird. For the seven years since we started the Bluebird Trail Project, we have successfully Fledged 1,590 birds.

IN THE HEAT OF MID-JULY, THINK FALL TOURS!

Not sure how many more 90 degree plus days we can stand of this weather. It is the baby birds and Eggs in the Nest Boxes that I worry about.

This Bluebird couple made a nest in one of the
mealworm feeders. This one way of being close
to a food source!

Try to think of cooler weather for the Fall and plan to come join us for one or all of our Bluebird Trail Walk and Talk Tours. Bring a Friend or Neighbor with you!

This is a good shot of the open field trail someone took and posted on
Friends of Green Meadows Facebook page. Thanks!

I hope you are enjoying the latest Eagle Scout Project that was completed in June.

would like to leave you with this message and quote from an article I read in the MDJ. The best way to slow and reverse climate change is to plant a Billion Trees!
